PIONEER PRO DJ SERIES presents
[JUST DAN TAIT] (UK) - SPECIAL AUDIO VISUAL SET
House / Electronica

Our first international resident and one of the top 10 DVJs of the world - Dan Tait, has literally spent half his life behind decks. At the age of 27, he has been rocking parties for over fifteen years. It was this ability to turn a track inside out, using whatever tools were at his finger-tips, that first caught the attention of the Pioneer product development team.

Dan Tait showcased Pioneer’s innovative new DJing DVD player (DVJ-X1) alongside Sander Kleinenberg and James Zabiela, at the closing party at Space in Ibiza and the first Global House Music Awards in London and is now taking the show to Clubs in Russia, Brussels, Ireland and back to Ibiza again.

But it is not simply technical skills that have marked Dan out as Leeds' favourite after party DJ, (DJ Sneak, Louie Vega and Erick Morillo have all had their Leeds carry-on sessions sound-tracked by the man himself). Summer 2003 saw Dan take Ibiza as DJ for G-Club (Defected). 2004 saw him play the first full 90minute DVJ set at the closing party of Space. Further performances with G-Club have seen Dan play at Defected in the House in Leeds.

TUNED UP with TANG, RATTLE, WILL
+
BANGKOK INVADERS (THAILAND) feat
DJ ONO, DJAY BUDDAH, MC BIG CALO
Hip hop / R&B / Urban

Think oily, gigantic boom-boxes, roaring car engines and piercing headlights, complete with race tracks in an undiscovered underground warehouse. Topped off with curvaceous Japanese race queens giving your red-hot Ferrari an absolutely saucy car wash. On this night, we present to you - dirt, sex, speed and music, everything that turns a man on.

The ladies are not forgotten as the charming, hot-blooded Bangkok Invaders (dream trio of DJ Ono, DJay Buddah and MC Big Calo), will be presenting a special showcase for one night only.

Unquestionably Bangkok’s most sought after hip hop DJ, DJ Ono has, under the collective “Bangkok Invaders”, taken the Thai hip hop scene by storm, headlining many major events to hit Bangkok city such as the Opening act and Official Afterparty DJ for Jay-Z and Rihanna Tour 2007, MTV Asia Awards Official DJ and Official AfterParty DJ for Beyonce World Tour 2007.

The Bangkok Invaders, the undisputed No.1 Crew in Asia, was formed in 2004 when DJay Buddah (Thaitanium’s official DJ) spotted Ono and MC Big Calo. Since then, their unique musical influences have created an aural tapestry of the hottest new hip hop, reggae, R&B and old skool joints.

Ono has also collaborated and played alongside many world-renown DJs such as DJ Cashmoney, DJ QBert, DJ A-Trak, DJ Shortkut, The Beat Junkies, DJ Krush, X-Ecutioners and DJ Latin Prince. In 2006, he was named the official “MTV/SONY Feel the Music” roadshow DJ for all of Asia, in which his commercial was aired on MTV Asia for a full year. Currently, Ono is working with Bangkok’s No.1 International Hit Music station GET 102.5, to establish the first urban mix-show for Thailand.

A night of tuned cars and very fine tunes, just the concoction to be smack in-tune with the hip hop culture.

JOURNEY with
PAUL JOHNSON (UK) [NEW!!!]
House / Progressive / Techno / Trance

This stellar new resident night will take you on a JOURNEY of music spanning multi genres and Paul Johnson’s growth and success as a DJ. There are many ways of describing this vastly experienced DJ, but the one that keeps surfacing is that he always delivers.

He currently hosts the immensely popular monthly ‘Transmission’ (trance) night, but this new night would like to show that he is (in his own words), “Not just a Trance DJ”.

Since taking the title UK DJ of the year in 1988, Paul has held residencies and made guest appearances at most of the major clubs in the UK. Outside of his home country, he has graced the decks in New York,
Nevada, Berlin, and now Ministry of Sound Singapore, where he has been Resident since the club’s opening in December 2005.

With influences from the 70's/80's Funk and Soul, The Hacienda Manchester, Acid House, Classical, Genesis and Jean Michelle Jarre, to name but a few, this night will hit you with a sense of nostalgia and anticipation as you embark on a time-travelling machine and await to be hit by the unexpected odd classic. From Tech House, Techno to Progressive and Trance, admire the way he transcends and blends them all into a seamless mix of energy and emotion.

FROOTY LOOPS with
EFFEN, MARCUS, JASON T, JOSH M
Electro / House

Ever since Frooty Loops’ first launch party 5 months ago, the dynamic duo - Effen & Marcus, has amassed quite a following, unabashedly dishing out their unique blend of dope remixes, bootlegs and progressive pornstar electro that is creating major tremors across the clubland.

Just for this week, they will be joined by veteran DJs – Jason T & Josh M, as they present to you harmonically-rich analogue basslines, abrasive high-pitched leads & the occasional piano and string riff.

Josh has been spinning since the 80s and constantly wins audiences over with his unique style of tweaking and mixing of music - incorporating elements of house, disco house, anthem, tech house, tribal, techno, progressive house and breaks.

Jason is a maestro in jazzy funk, disco, latin sounds, percussive afro beats, tech groove and anything electronica, and has also played alongside dance music superstars such as Lenny Fontana, Dimitri from Paris, Rasmus Faber, Johnny Fiasco, David Duriez, Towa Tei and Tim Healey.

We can’t wait to see what comes out of this diverse foursome. Just when you thought you could wind down on a Friday night, this lip-licking nasty sound is guaranteed to make you sit up and start moving those tired feet.

i-D with
JOSH M, NARO (INDONESIA)
Anthems / Floorfillers / Remixes

This very special night stakes its claim as it takes you away from dance music that seems to get way too elitist, and brings to you something closer to heart, with Guest act – DJ Naro & veteran resident – DJ Josh M. Here, a hand-picked selection of proverbial dance anthems & great, familiar tunes (wickedly remixed by some of the world’s most credible and best DJs and producers), flood the dancefloor.

DJ Naro is one of the reasons why Jakarta has become a stop-off for many DJs on the international circuit, having helped to establish its underground House scene way back in the early nineties, beginning with his residency at B1 - Jakarta's first ever underground House club. Rooted in his long standing love affair with Dirty Dub sound and characterised by mid-set house, bouncy rhythms, techy elements and a grooving bass line, DJ Naro aims to put magic and a spiritual energy into each of his DJ sets.

Having played at almost every major international event in Jakarta, he has shared the decks with DJs and artists like Danny Howells, Junkie XL, Sander Kleinenberg, Lee Burridge, Armin Van Buuren, Roger Sanchez , Tall Paul , Gabriel&Dresden , Smokin Jo, Mark Knight, Nick K, D Ramirez, just to name a few.

Naro was also the guest DJ for the Ultimate Gate Crasher Jakarta tour in 2002 with Ashley Casselle and Nick Riley with a turnout of 10,000 and it was set a first record for the Jakarta outdoor dance scene. He was also invited to play at GodsKitchen Festival Jakarta 2003, Cream Festival Jakarta 2004&2005, Cast Away Bali 2004&2005, Jakarta Movement 2003&2005 and Two Tribes 2005, Hed Kandi Party & Tokyo Disco 2006.

A night of only great tunes and great sounds by this dream duo, because on this night, you i-Dentify.
