About Kid Koala
Eric San a.k.a. Kid Koala is a one-of-a-kind sort of turntablist. In 1974, he was born in Vancouver, Canada. In 1995, Eric became Ninja Tune's first North American Signing. Following the signing, Kid Koala released a string of remixes and began touring North America with Ninja Tune artists such as Coldcut, DJ Food and DJ Vadim. Since then, he's also toured with the likes of Ben Harper, the Beastie Boys, and Radiohead (as well as headlining his own shows). In February of 2000, Ninja Tune released Kid Koala's debut album "Carpal Tunnel Syndrome". The album was accompanied by both a video game and 32-page comic illustrated by Kid Koala himself. A tour featuring 6 turntables and live musicians soon followed and took the young artist throughout North America and Europe. Kid Koala's second full-length album on Ninja Tune "Some of My Best Friends are DJs" was released in October 2003 and followed promptly by a global tour. His latest product, "Your Mums Favourite DJ", features the romance and swing that your mother may well smile at and even shake her booty to, plus the enthralling deftness and complexity you’d expect from Kid Koala is also here-woven together with classic beats, breaks and generous portions of jazzy funk.
